AUSTRALASIAN FLUID
AND THERMAL ENGINEERING SOCIETY

AFTES, a technical society of the Institution of Engineers, Australia, was established to perform
the "learned society" functions of the Institution in the areas of fluid dynamics, thermal energy
and systems, thermodynamics and heat and mass transfer.

It publishes an occasional newsletter and runs conferences, workshops and seminars.

The next conference to be run under the auspices of AFTES will be 9AHMTC,
the 9th Australasian Heat and Mass Transfer Conference
in Monash University, Melbourne, Victoria, in February 2010.

AFTES is a member society of the International Assembly for Heat Transfer Conferences
and ran the highly successful IHTC-13, the 13th International Heat Transfer Conference
in Sydney in August 2006; see link at left.

IHTC-14 will be held in Washington DC in August 2010.

AFTES also supports the International Centre for Heat and Mass Transfer
which organises a regular series of conferences on Computational Heat Transfer.
